Session Description: Looking for some bright ideas to help you illuminate your early literacy program? This course for early learning professionals focuses on the main components of early literacy. We will explore engaging strategies and activities that can be integrated across all areas of curriculum, and reflect on ways to improve literacy instruction for young children of all ages.
Learning Objectives. Please share 3 key objectives:

1) Participants will examine and evaluate the 5 components of a balanced early literacy program, selecting one component that they would like to more fully incorporate into their current literacy program.

2) Participants will compare and contrast a variety of early literacy strategies and their benefits.

3) Participants will select new early literacy activities that may be integrated into other curricular areas, and will develop a literacy activity that could be integrated into one of the following areas of instruction: math, science, or motor development.
