What We Can Learn from the Kindergarten Outcomes of Former ECEAP Students
August 7th, 2018, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM: PM2 Concurrent Sessions
Category: Pathways to Equity: Leading with Racial Equity
Session Description: ERDC has conducted research that explores the kindergarten outcomes of former ECEAP students in Washington state, and discovered that former ECEAP participants -- particularly dual language learners and Hispanic students -- were more likely to be ready for kindergarten than lower income kindergartners who did not participate in ECEAP.
Learning Objectives. Please share 3 key objectives:
1) Participants will be familiar with and know how to access ERDC's two early learning research briefs, as well what these reports imply about our overall goals of advancing racial equity in early learning.
2) Participants will be familiar with and know how to navigate ERDC's new Early Learning Feedback Report, and how this information can help them assess local program needs.
3) Participants will develop a stronger appreciation for the value of quality data in assessing program effectiveness and serving children in the state of Washington, and how to use data to advance their goals.
