Ourselves as Context: The Ethics of Personal Disclosure in Therapy and in Educational Settings
Description: Disclosing aspects of our own sexuality can potentially compliment or hinder a client’s path to healing or a learner’s process to building knowledge capacities. There are ethical dilemmas in determining whether or not to disclose aspects of our own identity and history such as sexual orientation, relationship configurations, fetishes, or relationship with our body.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: identify three benefits and three risks of disclosure.
