Description: While exploring one’s passions for pleasure is an important aspect of developing a healthy sexuality in adolescent and young adult women, diagnosis with a sexually transmitted infection may become a sentinel event in her experience that must be carefully navigated both clinically and emotionally for optimal outcomes.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: Discuss the epidemiology of sexually transmitted infections in the United States and the novel interventions that have the potential to address some of the issues facing young women with some focus on those residing in high STI prevalent communities.
