What Are Sex Offenders' Dispositions Toward Non-deviant Sexuality, and Can Our Knowledge of Them Shape Sexual Education?
Description: Although sexual education is an essential component of sex offender (SOs) treatment programs, its efficacy has not been evaluated. We propose that the goal of sexual education should be to improve SOs' sexual health and that treatment effects should be evaluated with regard to rehabilitation of the sexual sphere rather than sexual recidivism risk reduction.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: distinguish the unique dispositions of sex offenders toward non-deviant sexuality.
