Editing Out Condoms: Contraception in Popular Teen Culture
Description: The parallel was examined between the decline in condom use among adolescents with the films directed to teenage audiences between 1991 and 2017. The disappearance of condoms and STI plotlines from popular media seems to make pregnancy seem a larger concern and oral contraceptives therefore adequate.

Original Research Sessions will include information on research background, methods, results and discussion in the format of three 15 minute presentations followed by a Q&A with the audience.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: identify how popular culture may be contributing to sexual behaviors such as condom usage.
