Identity and Intimacy on the Asexual Spectrum
Description: This presentation draws from results of an online survey of over 1,300 members of the asexual community, including participants who identify as asexual, demisexual, and graysexual. We will explore what these sexual orientation labels mean to these individuals, as well as their experiences with and desire for intimacy, relationships, and sex. This presentation will demonstrate the complex, heterogeneous nature of the asexual community and advocate for inclusion of asexual identities and experiences in education and clinical practice.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: discuss the heterogeneous nature of the asexual community and the diversity of members' experiences with desire, intimacy and sex.
