Brief Session Description: Cyber security regulations such as NIST 800-53 r4 from the Federal Government outlines procedures for handling security and privacy of information systems. In this session learn about how these regulations are being executed by Federal agencies and which parts could be useful to school IT managers. Data leakage has been widely publicized and continues to be a challenge for all industries. However, some industries have regulations pertaining to Personal Identifiable Information, Child Protection and Family protection. The speaker will share how the Federal government is applying security controls to enhance data protection and meet regulatory requirements.
