Brief Session Description: For decades, technological advances have promised to "change learning as we know it," yet they've rarely come anywhere close to transformational change. Emerging technologies such wearables, augmented reality and virtual reality have the potential to make good on that promise. These new technologies have the capacity to transform learning environments by offering experiences that inspire users through immersion, embodiment, contextualization and self-awareness. They also alter the physical world through the application of digital depth - or the layering and integration of data, computing and connectivity into our physical environments. This session will explore how digital depth may spread in the future and offer the opportunity to create transformational change in education.
