Temperature-Dependent sRNA Transcriptome of the Lyme Disease Spirochete.
Dr. Lybecker has worked on gene regulation of the Lyme borreliosis spirochete, Borrelia burgdorferi, since 2001. She completed her Ph.D. and did a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Scott Samuels primarily focusing on small regulatory RNAs and the RNA chaperone Hfq in B. burgdorferi. Dr. Lybecker trained in Renée Schroeder's lab during her postdoctoral work and gained extensive experience with RNA biochemistry and RNA sequencing. At the University of Colorado Dr. Lybecker has merged her two areas of expertise and applied RNA-seq techniques to globally identify the temperature-dependent small RNA transcriptome of B. burgdorferi.
ILADS is a nonprofit, international, multi-disciplinary medical society, dedicated to the diagnosis and appropriate treatment of Lyme and its associated diseases. ILADS promotes understanding of Lyme through research and education and strongly supports physicians and other health care professionals dedicated to advancing the standard of care for Lyme and its associated diseases.
