Development of Direct Microbiologic Methods for Diagnosis of Lyme Disease and Co-Infections. Interest of New Generation PCRs
Sara Moutailler, PhD. ANSES-Animal Health Laboratory, JRU BIPAR, Vectotiq Team. Dr Sara Moutailler is specialized in Medical Entomology and Virology. Her research focuses mainly on evolution and epidemiology of pathogens vectored by ticks and mosquitoes in France and Europe. She evaluates the vector competence of different tick species for viruses. And she develops new high-throughput epidemiological surveillance method to identify both major and neglected European vector borne diseases. This advanced methodology permits the simultaneous detection of 26 bacterial, 12 parasitic species and 25 viruses across 94 samples (ticks or mammalian hosts) using microfluidic PCRs.
ILADS is a nonprofit, international, multi-disciplinary medical society, dedicated to the diagnosis and appropriate treatment of Lyme and its associated diseases.
