Dr. Dorothy B. Durband is a professor and director of the School of Family Studies and Human Services at Kansas State University. Prior to her current role, she served as a professor of Personal Financial Planning, Founding Chair of the Department of Community, Family, and Addiction Services, and Founding Director of the Red to Black® program at Texas Tech University. Her work experience includes providing financial counseling and financial education, employee training, event planning, and fund raising. She received a doctorate in resource management from Virginia Tech and a Master's degree in family studies from Texas Woman's University. Durband is co-editor of the book Student Financial Literacy: Campus-Based Program Development and has a forthcoming book on financial counseling. Dottie was a Financial Therapy Association Board member from 2010 -2013 and chaired the 4th Annual FTA Conference in 2013 in Lubbock.
