Margaret Sherraden is Founders Professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Research Professor at Washington University in St. Louis. Her books include Financial Capability and Asset Holding in Later Life: A Life Course Perspective (2015, Oxford University Press, co-edited with N Morrow-Howell), Financial Capability: Research, Education, Policy, and Practice (2013, Oxford University Press, co-edited with JM Birkenmaier & JC Curley), and Striving to Save: Creating Policies for Financial Security of Low-Income Families (2010, University of Michigan Press, with AM McBride), along with other publications on household and community development, international service, and immigration. She co-leads one of the 12 Grand Challenges in Social Work on Financial Capability and Asset Building for All, and currently sits on the St. Louis Federal Reserve's Community Development Advisory Council.
