Most nonprofits' economic models are volume based. And the volume model is broken - as we do more and more, costs are going up and retention isn't. In fact, research shows volume past a point increases donor frustration and decreases retention. The good news is that you can get off the hamster wheel by going deeper, not broader, with your communications. Learn how to identify what is really causing people to give, how to measure it, act on it and (in time) change your economic engine.
