8:15 AM - 9:20 AM: Breakout 1
Looking for a digital refresh? Do your e-appeals still look a little bit too much like your direct mail piece? Not sure how social, display ads or mobile fit in your strategy? Look no further, in this session we'll explore the many ways smart digital strategy can help you create a personalized, successful online fundraising strategy.
Through funny anecdotes we'll explore the history of City of Hope's Annual Giving program and the development of the Digital Philanthropy department. We'll share the many, many wonderful (and sometimes painful) campaigns, programs and learnings from this transition - including launching a DIY fundraising platform, developing special Giving Day campaigns, creating an email and text engagement and stewardship series and talking about developing and testing digital fundraising campaigns focused on restricted funding. We'll discuss working with colleagues from various departments, including foundation relations, corporate philanthropy and major gifts, on using digital in new, unexpected ways to further fundraising and stewardship goals. We'll also talk about putting the donor experience first, giving donors the power through DIY Fundraising efforts and creating a personalized online experiences.
The session will strive to be interactive for the audience, we'll utilize live polling through PollEverywhere during the session to drive the discussion and the audience will have multiple opportunities to ask questions and share relevant and anecdotes. All of this will culminate in our final, definitive thesis: sometimes (but not all the time) it makes sense for digital to be in the driver's seat!
