11:15 AM - 12:30 PM: Breakout 2
This session will help both new and seasoned managers be more effective as they balance the variety of fundraising and leadership responsibilities on their plates. Striking the right balance - on any given day - among one's many priorities is often challenging.
We will address several specific areas: effectively managing up, down and across teams; practical ideas for managing work flow and juggling priorities, and communication strategies for strengthening fundraising teams. We will reference a variety of best practices as well as provide a range of examples from Washington, DC based non-profits.
We both have extensive fundraising and management backgrounds working with senior non-profit leaders and boards/volunteers, as well as "in-the-field" work in large, mid-size and small organizations - so we can share examples and tactics from a variety of real-world perspectives.
