Brief Session Description: What happens when we put student data into the hands of the people it really affects - our learners? Brookhart, Moss and Long remind us that "the most important instructional decisions, those with the greatest influence on student success, are made by learners themselves" (2009, ref. Stiggins 2008). Levering quantitative and qualitative data is a key step in building learner agency and scaffolding students towards setting meaningful goals for their own academic progress. At Taos Academy Charter School, an innovative blended learning school serving grades 5-12, our advisers and teachers help students to track their own efficiency, chart progress, set goals, problem-solve and self-reflect. Join us to learn are the ways our teachers strive to put students in the driver's seat for success, as individuals, members of their learning community and as empowered partners in their own education.
