Room: Michigan B
Format: Sponsored Session - 30 Minutes
Primary Essential Skill: Data Management
Secondary Essential Skill: Information Technology Management
Audience: Ed Tech Leaders
Brief Session Description: Educational technologists are tasked with the rapid build-out of complex, EdTech ecosystems. However, ensuring the bidirectional movement of student, teacher, and course (or roster) data from your student information systems to target systems and digital textbooks is a time-consuming and error-prone nightmare when done manually.

The IMS Global Learning Consortium is working towards solving this issue with the OneRoster standard, an initiative that standardizes how this data is exchanged, making it quicker and easier to integrate curriculum apps. While it is a crucial step towards enabling the digital classroom, the initiative is still in its infancy with vendor adoption still spreading.

Attendees of this session will learn:
- What the OneRoster standard is and why it's important
- How to eliminate the manual work associated with providing the right roster data to target apps
- How to create a OneRoster environment, even when all of your applications aren't yet OneRoster certified
