Brief Session Description: Technology has become an essential component of the educational experience for K12 students across the nation. The technology required to support learning may vary from one geographic location to another, from urban districts to rural districts, and even from school to school within districts. However, our need for dedicated and innovated educational technology leaders and support personnel is universal. We have considerable talent in K12 technology support today. However, women and people of color are still underrepresented. One critical way to continue to grow talent in K12 technology support is to grow diversity in K12 technology support. Diverse work teams are uniquely positioned to create and implement new strategies and new approaches to address the complex and ever-changing issues faced in educational technology support today. This session will explore ways that K12 organizations can recruit and retain a variety of talent supporting educational technology for our students.
