Kim McCoy Wade, CalFresh Branch Chief, California Department of Social Services
Kim McCoy Wade was appointed by Governor Brown to be Chief of the CalFresh Branch at the California Department of Social Services in August 2015. She is responsible for the largest CalFresh (also known as SNAP) program in the country, providing 4.4 million Californians with food assistance each month, as well as the SNAP Outreach, Nutrition Education and Employment & Training programs. McCoy Wade was most recently an independent policy consultant and she also served as the Executive Director at the California Association of Food Banks. Previously, McCoy Wade held policy leadership positions at national organizations in Washington DC, including the Children's Defense Fund and Bread for the World. McCoy Wade is an alumna of Carleton College, the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, and the New York University School of Law.
