Digital Learning & Leading: A Blended Learning Online Approach
In the Digital Learning and Leading Online Master's program at Lamar University, we are re-defining what it takes to go beyond the "unimaginable limits" in distance education. This session will demonstrate distance education "beyond the unimaginable limits" where instructor becomes facilitator and students take ownership and leadership over their learning.

Dr. Tilisa Thibodeaux, Lamar University, Assistant Professor
Dr. Thibodeaux has a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology & Distance Education and Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She has a master's degree in Special Education from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. Dr. Thibodeaux has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading, Special Education, and Autism. Dr. Thibodeaux spent 11 years in public education as a digital design coach, campus academic coach, district trainer, and classroom teacher. Her research interests are in incorporating all aspects of educational technology in public school and higher education settings with particular emphasis in innovative applications and developing significant learning experiences. Dr. Thibodeaux has won the Golden Apple Teacher Award, Florida Educational Data Systems Award, Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year Award, and has been recognized as a Teacher of Distinction.
Dr. Dwayne Harapnuik, Lamar University, Dr.
Dwayne Harapnuik is a learning theorist who strives to use media and technology to enhance the learning environment. Dwayne received a PhD. in Educational Psychology from the University of Alberta and is currently a visiting/virtual Professor and co-developer of the M.Ed. in Digital Learning and Leadership at Lamar University. Dwayne is also aiding the School of Health Sciences at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) develop and implement their Learning Innovation Strategy and is teaching in the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program at Vancouver Community College. Previous academic appointments include: Instructional Development Consultant at BCIT, VP Academic at Concordia University College of Alberta, Director of Faculty Enrichment at Abilene Christian University (ACU), and Manager of Educational Technology at Lethbridge College.
