Applying Project Management Methodologies in Distance Education Departments
Participants in this session will learn how to implement project management methodologies within a distance learning team without adding significant overhead for the team members involved. The session will cover the process of planning a project with a team of individuals who implement, support and maintain educational technology systems.

Christina Cross, Lone Star College
Christina Cross, MBA, Director of Instructional Technology is responsible for exploring, implementing and maintaining technology solutions for online teaching and assisting faculty with the use of technology in the online environment. She has been with Lone Star College-Online since 2006 and has served as the administrator for LSC-Online technology and as a trainer in online applications.
Christina holds a BBA and MBA in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University and has 10 years of experience in educational technology.
Dr. Michelle Durán, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Director, Distance Learning and Instructional Technology-iTech
She is a native of the Rio Grande Valley. She earned a Ph.D. From Texas A & M University Corpus Christi. Durán also has a Masters in Education in Counseling and Guidance and a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas-Pan American. Durán is an active participant in local, state, national and international professional associations and has been honored with numerous awards for her contributions to distance learning and counseling. She is currently the Chairman of the Texas Distance Learning Association Board, Chair of the South Texas Higher Education Regional Council and a member of the Learning Technology Advisory Committee for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
