Ms. Barbara Ellis, University of Houston-Clear Lake, Office of Online Programs Accessibility Specialist
I serve as the Accessibility Specialist for the Office of Online Programs at University of Houston-Clear Lake campus. I work with students and faculty directly as well as through Disability Services to make all online materials accessible to students with disabilities and different learning styles. My experience is a culmination of thirty-three years of marketing, advertising and photography as well as ten years of emergency medicine and occupational health where I developed an eye for detail as well as a compassion to help others. In my short time at UHCL I have begun developing guidelines for the accessibility of online materials for students, faculty and staff at the university. I also work closely with faculty to teach them about the vital role accessibility plays in today's educational setting.
