The TxDLA Strategic Plan: A Progress Update
At the April 2015 meeting, the TxDLA Board of Directors began a strategic planning process to provide direction for the association in the coming years. This poster session will provide an update of the status of the plan.
Track: Administration and Policy
Dr. Randy McDonald, Texas Distance Learning Association, President
As President, Randy serves as the executive officer of TxDLA and head the Executive Committee. His duties responsibilities include preparing the annual operating budget, presiding at meetings, planning and conducting the annual Leadership Workshop for strategic planning, representing the association at state and national meetings, and performing other duties as delegated by the Board. As President-Elect during 2014-2015, Randy was responsible for planning and preparations for the 2015 state conference. As Director of the SFASU Center for Teaching and Learning, Randy's responsibilities include oversight of distance education, implementation of the university's Quality Enhancement Plan, faculty development programs, standardized classroom technology, and initiatives in teaching, learning, and technology.
Dr. Michelle Durán, Texas Distance Learning Association, Chairman of the Board
Michelle Durán is currently the Director of iTech/Distance Learning and Instructional Technology at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She is a native of the Rio Grande Valley. She earned a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Durán also has a Masters in Education in Counseling and Guidance and a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas-Pan American. Durán is an active participant in local, state, national and international professional associations and has been honored with numerous awards for her contributions to distance learning and counseling. She is currently the Chairman of the Texas Distance Learning Association Board, Chair of the South Texas Higher Education Regional Council and a member of the Learning Technology Advisory Committee for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
