As Principal Consultant for Direct Creative Group (DCG), John delivers independent creative consultation, across all channels and media, to nonprofit organizations and to the professionals who serve them. While focused on his clients' creative strategic goals, John's range of service includes all things creative, from high-level creative strategic planning to build-outs of offer and messaging platforms to facilitation of brainstorming sessions to copywriting and design services.

Over 35 plus years John has worked on clients as varied as Easter Seals, The Nature Conservancy, American Cancer Society, Feeding America, U.S Olympic Committee, GEICO, Time-Life Books, and many more. In past lives John has held senior creative roles for, among others, Russ Reid, Merkle, Moore Direct Marketing Group, Environmental Law Institute, The Richard A. Viguerie Company, plus his own creative firm Direct Design, Inc. John began his creative career as a sidewalk caricature artist.

He has written multi-year DM controls for organizations as diverse as Greenpeace, The Kennedy Center, and the New York Public Library.

Pru Bovee has been a fundraising copywriter since about halfway through the Bronze Age. She is expert at the use of anger as a motivator, and writes for liberal, progressive clients. She is proud to say she has never written for a client whose cause she does not personally espouse.
