Under New Management: Driving Massive Membership Growth

Using a talk show format, two membership organizations - one small, one medium-sized; one in the arts, one environmental - will explore how new staff members paved the way to double the membership base in less than five years. Doubling membership is challenging for experienced staff but even more so for newly hired staff. You will hear about the challenges they faced and how those challenges were met, especially when one organization was in the middle of a comprehensive capital campaign.
You will learn to build a solid foundation between members, donors and subscribers for maximum revenue. You will understand the data tools necessary to guide construction and measure success, avoiding potholes and unexpected detours.
You will learn that success requires re-engineering from the inside out as demonstrated through a five-part process: 1) determining future vision begins by using data to understand past performance and the level of challenge, 2) identifying best indicators for growth and new opportunities, 3) using data to define realistic goals and investments, 4) breaking down silos for institution-wide cooperation and communication, and 5) establishing reporting and infrastructures to support success.
