Utilizing strategies based on pedagogy and Quality Matters standards, she assists faculty in designing materials for online delivery. Recently, she has started to integrate gamification strategies into professional development workshops offered for faculty.
Steve Kaufman, Sr. Instructional Designer, The University of Akron
Steve Kaufman is a Senior Instructional Designer at the University of Akron. Steve works one on one with faculty members to develop engaging and innovative online courses. One of his research interests include developing courses around metacognition and gamification.
In what ways can we increase engagement for our students either in the face-to-face or online classroom? How do we take certain elements of games and implement them in an academic environment? This session will cover a variety of strategies and easy to implement ideas for increasing motivation, active learning, and engagement amongst your students.
