For some 30 years, Fred has been a nationally known freelance direct marketing copywriter and creative consultant.
In that time Fred has written powerful direct mail packages for many of the nation's leading nonprofit organizations, including the American Friends Service Committee, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Nature Conservancy, The New York Public Library, the Smithsonian Institution, and Wounded Warrior Project.
Fred is the recipient of several of the direct marketing industry's most notable awards, including Caples Awards, ECHO Awards, and MAXI Awards. Fred's work has been cited in the Complete Work of Model Fundraising Letters.
Fred has been a speaker at many direct marketing conferences, and served as instructor for the Direct Marketing Association's Winning Direct Mail professional seminars, held in Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco.
Prior to his work as a freelance copywriter, Fred served as creative director at Craver, Mathews, Smith & Company, a leading direct mail fund-raising firm headquartered in suburban Washington, D.C.
Fred lives with his wife and two children in Park City, Utah.
