THC Director of Development, Mark Chambers came to THC in the spring of 2013 with a career of more than 25 years in healthcare management, community health and fund development. After 15 years in executive roles in health policy and administration Mark turned to resource and fund development work as Vice President for a hospital foundation in South Bend, Indiana. Since then his focus has been on fund raising, working in a variety of nonprofit environments as lead fund development staff. His development experience spans the spectrum of fund raising practice from individual and major gifts, grants and foundations to special events. Since settling in the District in 2006, Mark has been engaged in the community as the volunteer chair of the annual campaign at All Souls Unitarian Church, board member and co-president of Anne Frank House, Inc. , a small organization providing permanent supportive housing to individuals, and a member of fund raising associations including the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association Foundation Group. Mark graduated with a Master's Degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Mark's responsibilities at THC include oversight of Fund Development, Volunteer Programs and Communications and Marketing.
