David Whitehead is responsible for leading all fundraising efforts for AARP and AARP Foundation. He has been a non-profit leader for 26 years, having helped a number of national and international organizations become more effective through strategic investments and revenue growth. As its chief development officer, David led The Nature Conservancy's Campaign for Conservation, a $1 billion effort to conserve 250 landscape-scale sites in the U.S. and 27 other countries. A five-year effort that began in 1998, the campaign concluded in September 2003 having raised over $1.4 billion. He has published several articles and is an official blog contributor for AARP.org. David was selected as the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) DC Chapter's Outstanding Fundraising Professional in 2011, and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) International board.
