Marshall H. Ginn, CFRE is a fundraising consultant with more 25 years of experience working with local, regional and national organizations. Mr. Ginn is the managing director of Capital Development Strategies LLC, a consulting firm he founded in 2000 and based in the Washington, DC area.
Mr. Ginn is a current board member of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy and a former board member of the Washington DC Metro Area Chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP/DC). He is also chair of the selection committee for The Washington Post Awards for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, a project of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement. He is active with the Association of Philanthropic Counsel, a network of fundraising consulting firms in the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Ginn is a former grant reviewer for the Arlington Community Foundation.
Mr. Ginn routinely makes presentations on major gifts, donor stewardship, nonprofit management and board development to his organizational clients as well as for the DC Public Private Partnership Conference, the Center for Nonprofit Advancement in Washington, DC, the Foundation Center, George Mason University, Leadership Arlington, the Bridge to Integrated Marketing and Fundraising Conference, and the AFP International Conference on Fundraising.
He is a graduate of the AFP Faculty Training Academy, and he received his CFRE certification in 2003. Mr. Ginn has also written two monographs on major gifts fundraising and on engaging staff in the fundraising process for the AFP Information Exchange series. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and currently resides in Arlington, VA.
