Speaker Bio: Samuel Shor, MD, FACP; Associate Clinical Professor, George Washington University Health Care Sciences has been elected four times by his peers as a Washingtonian TOP DOCTOR. Dr. Shor developed his long standing interest in chronic fatigue in the late 1980s. He subsequently developed an interest in managing associated conditions such as fibromyalgia and ultimately led to his interest in Lyme disease. Dr. Shor presented a congressional briefing regarding Lyme disease on Capitol Hill September 24, 2008. He was twice interviewed on the nationally syndicated Diane Rehm Show, April 20, 2009 and February 29, 2012. In addition, Dr. Shor participated in the 2010 Virginia Governor's Task Force on Lyme. He continues to be actively involved in patient care while pursuing his interest in clinical research. Publishing as recently as April, 2011 in the peer reviewed literature, he presented original research on a possible connection between seronegative Lyme disease and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. In the summer of 2011, Dr. Shor opened up a hyperbaric oxygen therapy clinic for which he has provided additional options for his Lyme and other patients. Early 2012, Dr Shor was selected to chair, the Loudoun County Lyme Commission in Northern Virginia.
