Abstract of Session/Presentation: In this panel discussion, speakers will share online information and materials that are free and useful for any Astro 101 course. Andrew Fraknoi will describe the free OpenStax Astro 101 textbook, and its Open Education Resources Hub of over 40 ancillary materials for both experienced and beginning instructors. Julie Steffen will talk about the formation of the Sky & Telescope Astro 101 Ambassadors group for piloting and receiving feedback on using S&T as a resource for Astro 101 students. Chris Impey will talk about tools and resources for enriching an Astro 101 course, either taught in person or online, including interactive tools and simulations, planetarium apps, citizen science projects, and image and video collections. Edward Prather will share a wide range of freely available classroom tested instructional materials designed to support instructors wishing to bring active learning into their in-person and online classrooms. Resources include hundreds of clicker questions, small group collaborative activities, simulations, and data-driven online-labs investigations.
