Finding quality open educational resources is only part of the challenge when transforming course content using open educational resources. This interactive session will help you define, locate, and integrate quality open educational resources into your existing courses.

Stefanie Buck, Director of Open Educational Resources, Oregon State University
Stefanie Buck is the director of Open Educational Resources (OER), a unit within Oregon State Ecampus that focuses on affordable learning through no- and low-cost course materials. Established in 2014, the OER unit supports and encourages faculty to adopt, adapt and author high-quality OER materials to help improve student learning and retention. The unit serves all Oregon State faculty who teach face-to-face, online and hybrid courses.

Prior to this, Stefanie worked for OSU Libraries from 2009-2019 as the Ecampus librarian. She has presented at conferences and published on topics related to distance education and student learning. Stefanie holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in history and library science from the University of Hawai’i, and an M.Ed. in instructional design from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Ashlee Foster, Instructional Design Specialist, Oregon State University
Ashlee is an Instructional Design Specialist with Oregon State University’s Ecampus. She collaborates with faculty and advisors to design high-quality student-centered courses and college/program orientations. Ashlee holds an MSEd and a certificate in instructional design from Western Oregon University. Professional areas of interest include open pedagogy, Universal Design for Learning, and the application of neuro, cognitive, and learning science in course design.
