Do they remember it? Can they demonstrate it? Can they apply it? Can they expand on it? This session proposes 5 steps to design a well-aligned assessment framework that measures student performance while promoting instructional effectiveness.
 
Learning Objectives
Define assessment and its role in your course.
Develop an assessment plan that keeps alignment in mind.
Identify tools to facilitate demonstration of learning & measurement of instructional effectiveness.

Karen is an Instructional Designer with the Teaching & Learning with Technology (TLT) team at Rutgers University. She has been working for over 15 years in the varied and evolving roles of instructional designer, curriculum specialist, and technology trainer, administrator and consultant. Her prior experience includes supporting teaching and learning at Rutgers NJ Medical School, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Kean University, Monmouth University and Columbia University.
