Issues, Principles and Practices: Designing Effective Remote and Hybrid Classes - Part 1: SPECIAL ASTRO 101 PANEL SESSION
Part 1:
Although online teaching is becoming more widespread, the transition to remote teaching in the spring of 2020 was done rapidly and with little formal support for instructors. With current teaching assignments at least partially, if not fully remote, there are many challenges and considerations faculty must work through to create effective, inclusive, and equitable learning environments.

In this first panel, we uncover the numerous implicit norms, ideas, issues, choices, and assumptions (about the students, the course, the tech, the pedagogy, and even about ourselves) associated with moving to remote teaching.
