Issues, Principles and Practices: Designing Effective Remote and Hybrid Classes - Part 2: SPECIAL ASTRO 101 PANEL SESSION
Part 2:
Although online teaching is becoming more widespread, the transition to remote teaching in the spring of 2020 was done rapidly and with little formal support for instructors. With current teaching assignments at least partially, if not fully remote, there are many challenges and considerations faculty must work through to create effective, inclusive, and equitable learning environments.

In this second panel, we discuss good practices and principles for designing and facilitating remote portions of courses.. We unpack strategies for encouraging student engagement both in small groups and the larger classroom setting and creating inclusive and equitable course climates and structures that serve all our students, especially given complicated external factors.
