Successful Strategies for Public Engagement During COVID
As COVID swept across the world in Spring 2020, plans for public engagement had to rapidly evolve. Star parties, science centers, afterschool and summer programs, and other public events had to be hastily cancelled as communities grappled with a public health crisis. As the world grapples with the long-term implications of closures, many innovations have emerged to stay connected. Virtual events, conferences, and workshops have flourished and seen increased audiences. New models for distanced non-touch community events emerged. We invite those who developed, implemented, and participated in these programs to this community discussion to share and build a collective resource for the community. We are interested in collecting descriptions, concerns, and best practices to broadly share as we move forward in how to continue meaningful public engagement in the coming years.
