Using Planned Giving to Raise Your Voice and Visibility
Wednesday, July 14th, 2021
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Breakout 2
United WE—a foundation for women's empowerment—advances all women's economic and civic leadership. In this session, Karin Cox and Angie Heer share fundraising strategies that this nonprofit and others have used to raise visibility while raising major gifts and planned gifts. Research shows that 90 percent of gifts come from 10 percent of donors, and the largest portion of giving comes from individuals, not foundations or corporations. People give to people, not projects. Whether it's for brick-and-mortar, programs and services or long-term endowment, donors want to be assured their gifts—particularly planned giving—will make a difference in the world. For nonprofits willing to notice, potential donors and volunteers are always telegraphing what matters to them. They are asking to be heard, so they can give gifts of meaning and significance.
