2020: What a Disaster

2020 was a year of non-stop disasters and emergencies: earthquakes hitting a barely recovered Puerto Rico, COVID affecting communities around the world, an ongoing Yemen humanitarian crisis, deadly explosion in Beirut and one of the busiest hurricane seasons to date. How do you effectively talk to your donors when so much is happening at once? How do you reach them across multiple channels, including new and emerging channels like Facebook and Twitch with consistent messaging when the message is changing so frequently? How do you capitalize on viral opportunities? And once you have all these new donors and leads, what's next? A COVID donor may be different from someone that gave to a viral campaign around Yemen. As an international relief organization, Project HOPE successfully responded to all these challenges and more throughout the year. In this presentation you'll look at multi-channel campaigns, including where Project HOPE was able to bring in new channels, capitalize on tried and true channels, and how these new donors are subsequently performing for the long-term health of the file.
