Bio: Dr. Phyllis E. Gillians has been a social worker since 1990. She is an Assistant Professor of SW at Bowie State University. Areas of focus are: Cultural Competency, Bullying, & Racial Profiling. Dr. Gillians received a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Augustine’s College, and a MSW from Fordham University GSS. She also received a Post-Masters Certificate in Child and Adolescent Therapy from Fordham University GSS. Dr. Gillians completed her Doctor of Education Degree at Fordham University GSED. She is a published author & finishing her book, “Keeping Students Safe and Alive: Strategies to Stop Bullying and preventing Suicide”.
