Active Learning Strategies
Description
The "Active Learning Strategies" workshop explores learning preferences, active learning, and strategies to promote active learning in online or blended courses. Participants will determine their own learning reference, discuss active learning, discuss types of interaction and determine how to select active learning activities that align with their course-level/module-level objectives. Participants will complete an Alignment Check worksheet using their own objectives to incorporate active learning.

Elizabeth McMahon is an experienced educator and instructional designer for face-to-face, online and blended courses. She is the former System Lead Coordinator for Quality Matters (QM) in Minnesota and former Coordinator of the Minnesota Online Quality Initiative and has multiple QM role certifications. She regularly facilitates workshops and webinars for faculty that focus on best practices for online teaching and design, accessibility, and UDL.
