SME Interviewing is a simple technique that supports the transformation of good course design to an exceptional one. Learn, practice, and apply this discovery-phase technique to achieve a memorable, meaningful impact for learners.

Describe the framework for SME design interviews in order to gain insight into quality course design
Create an interview protocol following the framework in order to practice the skill and get feedback

Krista Galyen, VP of LX Design, iDesign
Dr. Krista Galyen has over 22 years in the fields of education, special education, online learning, and instructional design. She has led the curriculum and instructional technology of an online K-12 high school, a statewide special education consultant for the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, and is currently Vice President of Learner Experience Design at iDesign.
 

Debra Cherubini, Chair, Department of Nursing and Assistant Professor, Salve Regina University
 
Dr. Debra Cherubini, assistant professor and Chair of the Department of Nursing at Salve Regina University is passionate about high-quality design and teaching that produces competent and compassionate nurses. She was also recently named “Nurse of the Year in an Academic Setting” by Rhode Island Monthly. Deb has served as a Navy nurse for 20 years, caring for service men and woman on deployment, where she developed a confidence that supported her when dealing with any challenge in life.
