Building Capacity to Restore Coastal Ecosystems through Municipal/Non-Profit Partnerships
In the Northeastern U.S., local governments are on the front lines of ecosystem management. Municipalities are responsible for restoring clean water, managing coastal and inland flooding, and creating resilient communities. As these challenges place new demands on New England municipalities, partnerships with non-profit organizations can bring additional resources and expertise to support solutions. Restore America's Estuaries is working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to fund Southeast New England Program (SNEP) Watershed Grants, which supports a variety of innovative partnerships, including those between local governments and non-governmental organizations. This panel discussion will highlight five successful partnerships that are successfully tackling difficult coastal challenges. Moderator: Thomas Ardito, Director, SNEP Watershed Grants
