Putting your Nonprofit on the Map: A Guide to Positioning Yourself As a Thought Leader to Grow Your Charity
Thursday, July 16th, 2020
4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: BRIDGE Talks
According to the National Center for Charitable Statistics (NCCS), there are over 1.5 million nonprofit organizations registered in the United States. With so many nonprofits, many of them trying to achieve the same goal, it can be challenging to gain visibility, build your community, and increase your donor base if your audience doesn't even know you exist.
This is the position that Concern Worldwide U.S. CEO, Colleen Kelly found herself facing when she took over the organization in 2017. As in Irish-based organization, Concern Worldwide is well-known abroad and globally, but not as well in the US. To help her gain exposure in the US for the global nonprofit, Colleen hired Pace PR Founder and President, Annie Scranton. Pace PR has positioned Colleen and members of her team at Concern as sought-after thought leaders and experts in the global relief sector, and secured media placements on Bloomberg TV, the Wall Street Journal, and National Public Radio, Forbes, and The Hill to name just a few. In this real-world case study of Concern Worldwide U.S., Colleen and Annie will explain why every nonprofit should build a thought leadership program for their organization, how they can achieve it, and how this strategy put Concern Worldwide U.S. on the map domestically. They'll also discuss what PR strategies you can incorporate to help you successfully pitch yourself to the media, how to leverage local press to garner larger media coverage, and how this strategy can be used to build your community and increase your donor base.
